Due to upcoming changes to authentication methods within your identity management system Azure AD we are recommending users switch to Outlook Mac for a more streamlined and secure experience.
Also, since teams and one drive is becoming more utilised, it makes sense to get as unified an experience as possible to get as much value from your org's 365 Cloud services subscription.
We have reports people have missed Teams meetings etc, due to the way Apple Mail handles incoming invites. Also managing calendars and contacts via iCal and Contacts is not providing a good user experience within 365 Cloud Services.
Our recommended and supported configuration for business use is thus
Mac Dekstop / Laptops
- Outlook, Teams excel etc
iOS / Android
- Outlook app, Teams excel etc
Personal email etc
We advise separating personal emails and calendars from company data by using Apple Mail and iCal for anything non business related. These apps are supported by iCloud, which tends to be tied to a users personal Apple ID. Making containerisation of company / personal data difficult. We are also seeing increased attacks that jump from personally owed services to company resources which is another reason for this recommendation.
