Removing malware from your Mac

In this article we will learn how to remove malware from your machine.

What is malware?

'Malware' is an umbrella term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software, including computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, adware, scareware, and other malicious programs. It can take the form of executable code, scripts, active content, and other software.

However, with malwarebytes, we can get rid of most forms of malware. Malwarebytes is a light program which has little impact on CPU usage. 


Getting rid of your malware.

1. Download malwarebytes by clicking here.

2. Go to your downloads folder or click on the download tab in Safari and double click on the file you just downloaded.

3. Drag and drop Malwarebytes to your Applications folder.

4. If prompted, enter your Mac's username and password.

5. Go to your Applications folder or search the Spotlight for Malwarebytes

6. Click on Scan. Wait for the scan to complete. 

7. If Malware is found, you will be prompted to remove it. Click NEXT to remove Malware.

8. Malwarebytes will ask you to reboot the machine. Please reboot (important).
